My First Experience at a Coloring Group

On Saturday I went to my first coloring group called The the three CCC ( Coffee,Coloring and Conversation) meet at Webster Groves. They meet Every second Saturday of the month 10am-1pm. Its downstairs at Elnstien Bros. Bagels. I went downstairs and walked in a room saying Hello I’m Holly VanDoren and this is my first day. I went to sit next to another Colorist. We bring our own Coloring Supplies and Coloring Books. We just sat down for hours talking about our own coloring books, coloring supplies and more. I had a really good time with other Colorist. I will be coming back.

I have been coloring since the last week of December in 2015. I never had done Coloring before. In the past to color I couldn’t do it because all  of my medicine  had me so missed up on stronger medicine. So I went into the hospital for couple of days to get me on better medicine . Plus I have a better doctor and was going to out patient program for three days a week. I finally don’t go because I have alot of networks and friends that are their for me. So I started getting my books and supplies. Coloring has help me with my mental and physical illness. It gives me reasons to wake up every daily. I have friends that color all the time.

I’m in a lot of Coloring groups on Facebook. They have weekly and monthly challenges. I have won a few of them.Plus it gets us to meet other colorist and have friendship with them. It’s great to talk about our same interest, techniques and  experiences we have had. We talk about coloring books, coloring pens, markers and more. Plus we support one another. Which it is good. Even if you don’t have it a home.

With the groups administrators they post different coloring  books and supplies. The administrators listen and encourage us with our art. Some even have live feed about their coloring books and their own releasing of their books. They even show us their own  techniques they use for their coloring. I really enjoy them

For the monthly  challenges they share with  us with one of their images to color. But we can not share the images with our friends and family. That’s one of the rules we have. And the winner will get their books and sometimes colored pencils. Sometimes people would donate other books and coloring supplies. In some of groups they have you can but tee shirts and other things and the money would go to people or groups that can’t afford. I think that’s totally awesome.

For the weekly challenge the winner picks a challenge for the finally week. And it repeats it self.

I see how coloring is really popular. You can get books and coloring supplies at grocery stores, drug stores and you can buy  online stores and malls. The cost are really reasonable.

I want to give a big thank you for to all of administrators, authors, publishers and ones I forgot to name. Thank you for everything you do for me. Without you I wouldn’t be the person that I am today. I wouldn’t have and enjoy the challenges. I has help me get better with my coloring and my communication with others. You guys have totally got me out of my comfort zone.( which I really needed) My friends, family and others are always giving me positive feedback. And my friends, family and doctors say that they notice a positive side of me. It has help me with myself esteem. and my mental and physical  problems.I won’t be the person I am today. Thank you to all the colorist that has shared their experiences with me.

Colorist,
