About

Hi, I’m Anne Manera

Artist, Author, Designer & Believer in the Healing Power of Creativity

Welcome—I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m Anne Manera, a visual artist, coloring-book illustrator, author, and creative teacher based in Providence, Rhode Island. For more than a decade, I have been creating art and resources that help people slow down, explore color, and reconnect with their creativity. My creative life includes acrylic painting, coloring-book illustration, needle-felted painting, and kinusaiga fabric art. Although each medium is different, everything I create begins with the same belief:

Creativity belongs to everyone.
You do not need formal training, expensive supplies, or hours of free time to make something meaningful. You only need a willingness to begin.

Art Made to Be Experienced

Painting was my first creative love, and it continues to inspire nearly everything I do. My artwork is filled with expressive color, peaceful landscapes, whimsical details, florals, and quiet places that invite you to pause and breathe.
Over time, my paintings began finding their way into my coloring books, needle-felting patterns, fabric-art designs, and creative kits. I love giving people different ways to experience an image—whether they want to color it, recreate it with wool or fabric, or enjoy the original artwork in their home.
My coloring books range from bold, easy designs with larger spaces to more detailed illustrations for colorists who enjoy a challenge. Many of my simpler books are designed to be comfortable and accessible for seniors and people with vision, dexterity, chronic pain, or fatigue challenges.

There is no pressure to color inside every line or choose the “right” colors. My hope is simply that each page gives you a peaceful place to land.

Creativity Without Pressure or Perfection

I understand that creativity does not always happen under perfect circumstances. Life can be busy, uncertain, exhausting, and sometimes painful. That is why I believe so strongly in making creativity approachable.
A few quiet minutes with a coloring page, paintbrush, felting needle, or handful of fabric can help us step away from the noise and return to ourselves. Art does not have to be perfect to be valuable. It can be playful, imperfect, experimental, and completely your own.
Through my books, kits, classes, tutorials, color-alongs, and Creative Sanctuary community, I encourage people to create at their own pace and without judgment.

My Greatest Inspiration

My inspiration comes from color, nature, everyday moments, and the joy that art brings to others. Nothing means more to me than hearing that one of my books helped someone relax, that a creative kit encouraged someone to try a new craft, or that a piece of art brought a little more happiness into someone’s home.

Those stories remind me why I continue to create.
